Skill Development with an eye on employment is the need of the hour and Diyaa is a widely known NGO working for Skill Development in India. There is a growing awareness that having an educational degree, does not always help in getting a job commensurate with one’s qualification. However, a minimum qualification of Class X combined with some vocational skill leads to employment opportunities. We strive to expand the earning capability of the marginalized sections of society, thus bringing them into the mainstream, by teaching vocational skills. Diya has set up its Academic and Computer training centres in Khatima (Uttarakhand), Bharat Nagar (New Delhi) and Deoband (UP). Diyaa has more than 1000 beneficiaries in last 10 years since its establishment in year 2009.

• Photography & Video Editing Training

We envision empowering underprivileged students /adults by providing sustainable livelihood leading to economic independence. At  Diyaa, enabling self-reliance is the belief that permeates everything we do. Our aim is to impart education and training to children, youth and women so that they can live a self-reliant life of dignity and respect. With this mind, we have set up several vocational training programmes in various places. These programmes provide marketable skills to the beneficiaries that can help them get competitive jobs. We provide certificate courses in Photography, Camera Handling & Lighting techniques, Video Editing etc. Diyaa has its own Camera and Studio setup in Bharat Nagar (New Delhi) to provide the best training experience to all our students. So far Diyaa has trained 300 students in Photography, 450 in Video Editing and 105 in Camera handling & Lighting Techniques.

• Folk Dance Training Workshop

With the support of Government and our valuable Sponsors, we conduct folk dance training workshops. Chholiya Dance, Chhapeli Dance, Pandava Nritya, Jhoda etc. are the Dance forms that we train the youth in.  We provide opportunities to amateur artists to display their talents at national and international levels. We provide opportunities for elders to transmit traditional knowledge and skills to younger generations to create a supportive and respectful environment for the presentation of folk, both tangible and intangible.

• Beauty & Make-Up Training

 Diyaa provides Certificate Courses to the women from weaker section of society in basic Beauty Culture in our Skill Development Centres in Delhi and Uttarakhand. The training includes Film Makeup, Bridal Make-up, Threading, Bleaching, Waxing, Facials, Manicure, Pedicure, Head & Body Massage, Hair Cutting/Styling and Henna Application. The learners from our training program can easily earn around Rs. 10,000/- per month by providing door to door services. While many can be employed in Beauty Parlours, and some can set up their own parlour.
